Celebrating Tampa Bay Sun FC’s Inaugural USL Super League Championship by the River
A Big Win for Tampa and Women’s Soccer
Tampa Bay Sun FC just wrapped up an incredible season, taking home the very first championship title in the USL Super League. As someone who lives in Tampa and works in event photography, I knew I had to be there to capture this historic moment. This wasn’t just any celebration—it was a big one, Tampa-style.

The Championship Boat Parade on the Hillsborough River
Tampa has this awesome tradition where championship-winning teams celebrate with a boat parade down the Hillsborough River, and this time it was the Sun’s turn to shine. I rode my bike to the Tampa Convention Center, where the parade began. From there, I leapfrogged the boats by bike, stopping at different points along the river to photograph the players as they passed by on the water.
The energy was high, the sun was blazing, and you could feel how proud this city is of the team.

Armature Works Celebration & Fan Moments
The parade ended at Armature Works, where a huge crowd of fans gathered to welcome the team. There was a short ceremony honoring the players, including a speech from Mayor Jane Castor, who declared June 18th as Tampa Bay Sun FC Day—a cool moment that really captured how much this win means to the community.
I took photos of fans waving flags and holding signs, players showing off their medals, and the whole team together with the championship cup. These are the moments I love to document—the real, human side of a big win.
